During the Kargil War, Vikram Batra showed great courage and leadership. He was a captain in the Indian Army and led his soldiers with confidence. His first major success was capturing Point 5140 from enemy forces. After winning the battle, he sent the famous message, "Yeh Dil Maange More!" This became a symbol of his fearless spirit. Later, he volunteered for another dangerous mission to capture Point 4875. During the battle, one of his fellow soldiers was injured. Without thinking about his own safety, Vikram Batra rushed to save him. While fighting bravely, he was seriously injured and sacrificed his life on 7 July 1999. For his extraordinary bravery, he was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military honour. Vikram Batra is remembered as a true hero because of his patriotism, courage, leadership, selflessness, and dedication.
