Neglect of small things is the rock on which the great majority of the human race have split. Human life consists of a succession of small events, each of which is comparatively unimportant, yet in which these small events are dealt with, character is built upon little things—little things well and honourably transacted. The success of man in business depends upon his attention to little things. The comfort of a household is the result of small things well-arranged and duly provided for. Good government can only be accomplished in the same way—by well-regulated provision for the doing of little things.

Summary:
The passage emphasizes the significance of paying attention to small details in life. Neglecting minor aspects can lead to failures in various areas, including personal development, business success, and effective governance. By focusing on the proper execution of small tasks, individuals can build character and foster successful relationships, ultimately leading to a more harmonious existence.

VI. Answer any two of the following questions (2x5=10)

1.     Draft a copy of speech on “Natural Calamities.”

Ans: Speech on Natural Calamities

Good morning, respected teachers and fellow students,

Today, I want to address an urgent topic that affects us all—natural calamities. These disasters, such as floods, earthquakes, and hurricanes, are a reminder of nature’s power and unpredictability. They not only cause loss of life but also devastate communities and economies.

As global warming intensifies, the frequency and severity of these events are increasing. It is imperative that we understand their causes and impacts. Awareness and preparedness can significantly reduce casualties and damages. We must promote sustainable practices to mitigate climate change and protect our environment.

Additionally, community cooperation and effective government policies play crucial roles in disaster management. Together, we can build resilient societies that can withstand these challenges.

Let us work towards creating awareness and preparedness to face the inevitable natural calamities of our time. Thank you.

2.     Write an essay on “Ban on Plastic.”

Ans:
Ban on Plastic

Plastic pollution has emerged as one of the most pressing environmental issues of our time. The ubiquitous use of plastic, particularly single-use plastic items like bags, bottles, and straws, has led to significant harm to our ecosystems and health. As a result, many countries are now imposing bans on plastic to combat this crisis.

The rationale behind banning plastic is rooted in its non-biodegradable nature, which means that it remains in the environment for hundreds of years. Plastics clog our oceans, harm marine life, and enter the food chain, posing serious health risks to humans. Moreover, plastic production contributes to greenhouse gas emissions, exacerbating climate change.

By banning plastic, we can encourage the use of sustainable alternatives, such as biodegradable materials, and promote recycling efforts. Governments and communities need to work together to implement effective policies that support this transition. Public awareness campaigns can further educate citizens about the harmful effects of plastic and the importance of making environmentally friendly choices.

In conclusion, a ban on plastic is a necessary step towards a cleaner, healthier planet. It is our responsibility to protect the environment for future generations by reducing plastic usage and supporting sustainable practices.
