II. Answer any SIX of the following choosing
atleast two from poetry in a paragraph of 80 -100 words each: 6x4=24
14) Describe the boy’s experience in the
school in the poem. “The School Boy”.
Ans: The
school boy feels unhappy when he needs to go to the school, his morning hours
pass sadly. Therefore, his life at school is also troubling. He isn't
interested studies. Indeed, even the teacher's teaching bore him. The teacher
also watches out all the students with the goal that the students should follow
rules and regulations of the school. His day is spent in sadness, trouble and
distress. He loses all his happiness. The poet compares the school and a tree
under which children sit and learn. The boy says he doesn't discover peace
sitting under this tree moreover. We
as a whole realize that the pleasure of childhood lies in being free and
cheerful like a bird. The poet compares the school boy as a bird in a cage. He
says that as a bird is sad in the cage so is the boy in school. He says that a
boy who is scared by his teachers can't be cheerful.
15) Comment on the collective madness as
described in the poem. “Money Madness”.
Ans: The poet marks money and the greed
for it as our own type of madness that is destroying us as a social society.
The entire world being money mad is an amount of distinct people who are
turning madly money oriented. Every individual episode of madness makes the
entire world a maze of desire for money. He
regrets that people are so scared to lose whatever money they have that they
find it hard to give charity. Regardless of whether it one pound, we feel
crushed to lose it. A total as high as ten pound really
makes people shake with sadness, anxiety and bitterness. We have become enslave
to the chains of money power. It makes us prostrate and worship it. It controls
our thoughts and impacts our activities. The
poet proceeds to guarantee that there is something considerably more remarkable
that is working in this entire race for money. It is the sort of social status
and approval that we as a society offer to individuals with money and
individuals without it. Money has turned into the single
greatest marker and signifier of worth and significance in the public eye. When
we assess an individual today we scarcely notice his/her qualities, values,
characteristics and attributes. We just judge his material belonging and
wealth. If he experiences hardship, deprivation, poverty and neediness, he is
censured as weak, unsuitable and unfit to suffer. He needs to struggle, scrap
and suffer pains and torments since he is poor. Indeed, even his death becomes
irrelevant because that he carried on with an unfortunate man (poor man).
16) How does the poem “If I was a Tree”
describe the social discrimination?
Ans: The poet explains that if that he was a tree, the bird
wouldn't ask about his caste before to making its nest. This shows that the
poet has felt dishonored of his caste because of the caste system on a few
occasions. He says that his shadow wouldn't feel dirtied when the sun rays
embraced him. The tree would also have a wonderful relationship with the cool
wind (breeze) and the leaves would be sweet. When he expresses that
raindrops won't quit thinking him a dog eater, obviously the people from whom
he had expectations, similar as a tree expecting water, consistently rejected
and insulted him. Then, at that point, he says that when he spreads out his
roots, Mother Earth won't escape in fear of tarnishing its image. This means
that he was moved out by the upper caste since he had a place with a lower
caste. ‘Branching out’ refers to lower caste people finding and using their
maximum capacity, which the upper caste keep them from doing.
The poet proceeds to make sense of that if he were a tree, the holy cow,
which possessed over three hundred thousand Gods, would scratch herself and
touch him utilizing that support. This shows that he has been rejected access
to a number of sacred and blessed places. A surprising expression exhibits how
the higher caste worships cows yet disregards the divine nature of their fellow
people. At last, the poet justifies his desire to be a tree by saying that
being a tree would ensure his death by being burned in holy fire or
transforming into a bier. This shows that he knows that he will be detested
even after death, and that he won't be allowed to be cremated in a decent way.
Subsequently, he would be condemned both during and after his life personally,
however as a tree, he would live in harmony, peace, dignity and pride.
17) How did the elephant cheat the man and
occupy his hut?
Ans: The
elephant had positively no apprehensions while supporting its regional control
of the man's hut. It dismissed before the Commission that the man had requested
that the elephant spare his hut from the hurricane and as the storm had
accessed the cabin attributable to the abandoned space in the hut, the elephant
had put the vacant, lacking space to a more financial use by involving it. The
judgment was supportive of the elephant since all the members of the Commission
were agents from the elephant's side. Besides, none of the jungle delegates
thought about equity. They were all narrow minded and tricky individuals,
similarly as the jungle ruler lion himself seemed to be.
18) Justify the man’s decision at the end of
the story in “The Gentlemen of the Jungle”.
Ans: The man's activity can be perceived as defended requital
on retaliation, retribution, discipline. We should recall the way that
subsequent to having attempted over and over for equity in a quiet way and
simply in the wake of being violated more than once does the man go to the
extraordinary degree of torching the hut alongside all the creatures inside.
Indeed, even here, reality remains that if the creatures hadn't illicitly
involved the cabin which was not worked by them, the lamentable destiny
wouldn't have fallen on them. In this way, in whichever point we take, the
man's activity can be perceived and supported. We ought to recollect that
enduring wrongdoing is as terrible as submitting it.
19) How was Krishna cured of his illness in
“Around A Medicinal Creeper”?
Ans: Krishna cured from piles problem. Krishna had piles issue
and the main remedy for it in allopathy was medical procedure. Krishna, an
ignorant, was unnerved by medical procedure and thus he went to the town godman
for therapy. The godman, being old, could just give the portrayal of the plant
which could be utilized for his fix. Since the portrayal coordinated the
highlights of the marvel creeper, the creator took him to the creeper which
Appanna had attached to a tree and Krishna drank the ground tuber of the
creeper with milk.
20) What was the routine of the narrator in
the unit “Oru Manushyan”?
Ans: The routine of the narrator in the city was
nothing energizing about the daily practice of the narrator in the city. He
showed the transient workers English as they needed to compose addresses in
English at the mailing station. As they were working individuals, he could show
them just at night. As a rule, his educating went on from nine-thirty till
eleven in the night. Since he earned practically nothing, he dozed the entire
day and woke up at four at night to keep away from the costs of morning tea and
early afternoon lunch.
21) Write a note on Babar Ali’s school,
“Anand Siksha Niketan”.
Ans: “AnandSiksha Niketan” is the name of Babar Ali’s
school. Babar actually started his school at the mere age of nine; his school
grew out of a game. Behind the office is a gate that opens to Babar’s home,
where rows of poor, underprivileged kids sit under the open, blue sky and learn
what most children in the modern world pay hundreds of dollars for, for free. He used to play 'school-school' game
with his companions and used to go about as their teacher. Different
youngsters, in contrast to Ali, had not seen within the school and thus we're eager
to play the game with him. However, soon, the game transformed into true educating
as kids were glad to learn number-crunching. 'Anand Siksha Niketan' got set up
with eight students on roll.
22) What sacrifice did Mara make to save the
lake in the play “The Watchman of the Lake”?
Ans: Mara
guaranteed that the lake could never flood its banks, since the Goddess
couldn't make Veda flood her banks till the arrival of Mara, with Mara's
passing. His kindness in making the King slaughter him spared the life of the
ruler and every one of his subjects. In right now, we have no guardians to
watch our streams and different wellsprings of water. We have been abusing the
water assets childishly. We toss trash, including processing plant discharge,
into the water; we wastewater; we don't attempt to safeguard water through watershed
the executives, water collecting and so forth. We have dirtied our most
consecrated waterway – Ganga – unimaginable. It's about time that we understood
that water is the remedy of life and except if we treat water consciously;
there is no future for us.
23) Babar Ali’s school took space out of an
individual’s responsibility towards society. Elaborate.
Ans: Babar
Ali wanted to take care of a circumstance which, he felt, was unjustifiable.
Despite the fact that Ali originated from a little town – Murshidabad, he had a
fantasy and he ran after understanding that fantasy. The fantasy, be that as it
may, was not for individual satisfaction. As referenced in the exercise, his
adventure is verification to the truism that one individual can have any kind
of effect on the off chance that he is propelled by a powerful urge. Ali had
the benefit of being taught on account of his dad's remain on instruction. Yet,
not all the youngsters in the town had a similar bit of leeway. That is the
reason, subsequent to going to his school in the first part of the day; Ali
began taking classes for the uneducated children of the town in the terrace of
his home. It was, rather, for the improvement of youngsters around him.
III. Answer ANY ONE of the following in about
200 words: 1x6=6
24) How does the “Farmer’s Wife” embrace life
with dignity?
Ans: The
pitiful and miserable situation of a farmer's wife, whose husband committed him
because he lost the courage to face the insults and humiliation of his money
lenders, appears in the film "The Farmer's Wife." The farmer's wife
opens up about her problems in the poem, which takes the form of a dramatic
monologue. She criticizes her husband for betraying her and giving her a fatal
blow in the first part of the poem. The farmer's wife states in the poem's
following part that she would not allow her children to die like worm-eating
cotton pods, but rather, she would fight life's challenges head-on and not
embrace death. She would instruct her kids not to clasp their hands for begging
for a handful of rice but to face the struggle for life and with courage and
determination stay alive and not die like a coward.
Or
An ordinary village man was instrumental in
saving the whole kingdom. Elaborate with reference to the play “The Watchman of
the Lake”.
Ans: Since
the Goddess could not cause Veda to flood until Mara arrived, Mara's passing
guaranteed that the river would never flood its banks. The king and each and
every one of his subjects were spared by his kindness in ordering the king to
murder him. We currently lack a watchman to keep an eye on our streams and
various water sources. We have been carelessly misusing the water resources. We
dump waste into the water, including waste water from processing plants, and we
make no effort to protect the water through watershed management, water
collection, etc. We have hopelessly polluted the Ganga, our most revered river.
It is about time we realized that water is the cure for life and that
without if we treat water knowingly; there is no future for us.
