These methods are put together by Padma Shri Awardee ‘Subhash Palekar’, who is a farmer and also an agricultural scientist.

This approach is based on 4 pillars.

Jeevamruta – A mixture of cow dung, cow urine, jaggery & pulse flour is sprayed on soil. It provides nutrients to the soil.

Beejamruta – A mixture of cow dung, cow urine, a powerful natural fungicide, a strong anti-bacterial liquid, lime and soil is coated to the seeds.

Mulching – Dead matters of any living organism (plants, animals, etc) are used to cover the soil. It helps in water retention of the soil.

Waaphasa – Healthy microclimate for air and water vapour is created in the soil to reduce water usage.

It was called as Zero Budget because the small investment it requires is compensated by intercropping, which means growing two or more crops next to each other at the same time.

2) Comment on the essay “On Saying Please”.

Ans: Gardiner uses everyday incidents to illuminate his particular concerns by reporting of a chance bit of discussion overhead, a little incident either experienced or read about or something almost identical Gardiner continues onward to a more huge, however maybe broad, matters identified with it. For instance, in this article, while remarking on the suitability or in any case of the liftman's activity, Gardiner continues ahead to an intensive conversation on politeness and courtesy. Our behavior is mirror for other to retort back in same manner. What others think about us, what would they exhibit or utter about us, such things should not be given more important, good-mannered person would ignore everything and thinks on brighter side. Good mannered person would be more optimistic rather than others. People would revolve around such persons who have good manners. Law cannot enforce civility. When there would be corporal brutality then law can be enforced. Law can be enforced in unambiguous occasion of contravention of individual constitutional rights. The law cannot compel anyone to say “Please or thank you” and it is not enforced to do so. No laws compel to hurt or misbehave with anyone; there is no law compensation of ethical and cerebral damage. The law cannot befall the custodian of our personal etiquette.

III. 1) Critically appreciate the poem “Still I Rise”.                        (10x1=10)

Ans: In the first stanza of "Still I Rise," Maya Angelou uses the dirt on the ground to symbolize the downtrodden and unvalued members of society, only to counter this with the symbol of dust, which rises from the ground when trodden underfoot. The rest of the poem is filled with contrasting symbols of prosperity and oppression. The pumping oil wells to which the speaker refers in the next stanza are a symbol of wealth and self-sufficiency, and the same is true of the gold mines in her backyard in stanza five. The diamonds between her thighs at the end of the seventh stanza add sexual confidence to this combination. The moon, the sun, and the tides in the third stanza act as symbols of the certainty and inexorability of her rise, comparing it to a law of nature. Later, in stanza six, the same symbolism is applied to air. There are also symbols of the oppression that the speaker has surmounted and continues to overcome. Bowed shoulders are described as falling like teardrops, symbolizing misery and defeat. The huts in which her people used to live symbolize "history's shame." At length, she becomes the free, independent person that her ancestors dreamed of being, symbolized by a "black ocean," an unstoppable and uncontrollable natural force.

2) What does W.B. Yeats pray for his daughter? Explain.

Ans: The poem ‘A Prayer for my Daughter’ portrays the theme of love and anxiety of a father, who has been blessed with a daughter. It also presents the poet’s hopes for his daughter and his expectation of her becoming a very beautiful woman, blessed with the attributes of a virtuous soul. The setting of the poem is uncertain for the poem is conceived in the mind of the poet. The speaker is the poet himself talking to his daughter. The poem is conversational and didactic in tone with varying emotions of gloom, uncertainty, hope, and fear. “A Prayer for My Daughter” is concerned with surviving the chaos of the modern world the separation of reason from passion, or the surrender of reason to one’s own violence or the anarchy of the external world.  Yeats thus far in his career had celebrated the mighty Irish heroes of both legend and the historical past and presents those courageous men and women who sacrificed themselves for their ideals. Now, however, the poet expresses certain ambivalence toward those heroes. He understands that in the necessary sacrifice for a cause, one may surrender “heart”. In fact, any single-minded commitment to political, social, or intellectual causes, even to beauty may become obsessive and negate one’s more important personal and humane concerns. “A Prayer for My Daughter” proposes the means of rescuing the self, heart, and soul true beauty from a world of growing disorder and increasing human misery.
