A Room 10' × 8', the story is based on a theme "Generation Gap" which is arising as an unpropitious sign in friendly texture. Mrs. Malik, an ordinary housewife, was enthused about building her fantasy house in an affluent colony of Delhi. Mr. Malik was having adaptable job. Mrs. Malik had chosen to remain in Delhi solely after their home got built on the grounds that she was tired of postings. She demanded having a credible store to the size of 10' × 8'. She believed that this room could be utilized by her mother-in-law, and once she left this world, it was to be utilized as store-room. Mr. Malik, who was unconscious of her arrangement, acknowledged the proposition. Mrs. Malik took an unmistakable fascination for its construction. She directed every single detail. A sculpture of a woman of house inclining toward the column was likewise consolidated. At the point when they were going to move to their new house, the property was gained by the government authority. Hence, Mrs. Malik got irate, however later turned out to be calm in the wake of realizing the lease to be paid to them in lieu of this dominating.  


After certain years, Mr. Malik was posted in Delhi once more. In any case, Mrs. Malik's mother-in-law took the final gasp. Her child got married; Mrs. Malik became mother-in-law to this new lady. Mr. Malik was locked in to take on legitimate conflict to get back ownership of the house; however he was unable to appreciate being there in the house by virtue of his demise. They reestablished ownership of the house following three months of his downfall. They at last moved to their home. The daughter-in-law got horribly enjoyed getting the house painted. The last move was made in the evening. Mrs. Malik in transit was totally lost in her past recollections reiterating her work and inclusion over the span of the construction of the house. The sculpture of woman inclining toward divider was a state of happiness to her. She generally felt that the draftsman had made her sculpture. Her daughter-in-law was sitting in front seat, conversing with her husband in English. Mrs. Malik was not having passionate sentiments with her daughter- in-law. At long last, they showed up at the house. The daughter in-law situated her adjacent to the sculpture inclining toward the wall. The son had forgotten to open the back door of the carto make his mom to receive in return. Presently, Mrs. Malik understood the changed condition of the family. Her fantasies about administering the family had leveled. At last her son understood his mix-up and came down to open the entryway and Mrs. Malik was accompanied to the room of the size of 10' × 8', which was believed to be saved for her mother-in-law. The existence had taken round trip and now Mrs. Malik was obliged in a similar room by her daughter- in-law. Mrs. Malik was sinking and her own words were showing up before her. The story analyses a basic and common mentality where Mrs. Malik was getting what she had considered for her mother-in-law.
