I WANT TO QUIT THE I.C.S.

a) I’m writing this letter to you on a very
important matter.
i) Who is writing the letter here?

Ans: Subhas Chandra Bose thought it proper to
give a detailed introduction of his family and himself to C.R. Das because he
was a stranger and introduction would help Das to recognize him.
b) What options did he have in his mind after
quitting the I.C.S?
Ans: Subhas Chandra Bose wanted to teach at
National College and to take up writing and publishing books and newspapers. He
wanted to thrust into National Movement with fortitude.
c) How did the Civil Service Examination help
him?
Ans: Civil Service Examination helped him to
have all-round education up to a certain standard in Geography, Sanskrit, Law,
English, Political Science and Economics.
d) Why didn’t he dare to write directly to
C.R. Das? Who did he send his letter with?
Ans: He didn’t dare to write directly to C.R.
Das because he was I.C.S. probationer and his letter would be censored. He sent
his trusted friend with his letter.
